The School Library & Digital Resources

  • At LFCS, we believe that the purpose of a a school library is to provide a conducive, flexible space and ergonomic setting to students and extensive range of resources to support students throughout the school.
  • Our school library support both traditional reference books, fiction and resources in digital formats as well. It has a dedicated role in the development of a culture that promotes researching, motivation for reading and learning for life.
  • We make sure that it is a place for collaborative learning, creativity and development of independent research grounds and information literacy skills. It is managed by trained faculty and accessible to all the students during their school tenure.
  • The school library is open to all bonafide students of the school. All the classes are provided with at least one library period per week. Students have to observe the following rules:
    1. Students of Class IV onwards are issued one borrower ticket each. These are non-transferable.
    2. Students are allowed to borrow books only on their own cards.
    3. Students are expected to maintain absolute silence in the library.
    4. Books other than reference books are issued for one week.
    5. Reference Books are also issued to the students during the weekends for two days. If the library books are returned late without a valid reason, the borrowing facility is withdrawn for two weeks.
    6. Books damaged, marked or disfigured will have to be replaced or paid for by the borrower.
    7. The Library has an open shelf system and students are expected to adhere to the order in which the books are arranged while picking them up or placing them back on different shelves. They must place the books properly on the racks after consultation and not leave them on the tables.
    8. Students are not allowed to bring their personal books into the library.
